Strong interest pushes up Queenslander’s price

Marketing agent David Lazarus, of Belle Property Manly, said the four-bedroom home at 30 Ashton St sold for $976,000. The property has sash windows, VJ walls, timber floors, wraparound veranda and a big shed.Mr Lazarus said the home attracted strong interest. “We had three registered bidders and an opening bid of $800,000,” he said. Inside the home at 30 Ashton St, Wynnum.“It was called on the market at that price and bidding kicked off again.”Mr Lazarus said the highest bidders were owner-occupiers from Sydney. “The woman is an artist and she wanted the lovely big shed that’s in the backyard for her artwork,” he said. The Manly-based agent said Queenslanders were proving to be very popular in the bayside market. “We have a few pop up but a Queenslander like this is quite special,” he said.
